Dave explores the Joy of Techs
UKTV’s Dave has commissioned an unscripted series in which technophobe Marcus Brigstocke and best friend and Celebrity Masterchef UK winner Alexis Conran test gadgets while tackling classic games and scenarios.
The pair will front Joy of Techs on the British network, with the show running to ten half-hours and coming from indie Blink Films.
Comedian Brigstocke and Conran, a TV presenter who won the most recent Celebrity MasterChef on the BBC, will camp together, with the former attempting to prove that modern technology is useless and latter flying the flag for gadgets.
“Alexis and Marcus have a real friendship – warm, funny and encompassing a competitiveness bordering on the unhealthy,” said UKTV’s senior commissioning editor, Iain Coyle. “It’s a brilliantly simple format that pushes all those buttons and you get to see solar powered cars and flying bikes too.”
Coyle executive produces for Dave, with Dan Chambers doing the same for Blink.
The show will air next year, joining other Dave originals such as Dara O Briain’s Go 8 Bit and Taskmaster.
