Lifetime making Britney Spears biopic

US cable network Lifetime is to dramatise the life of singer Britney Spears in a telemovie set for next year.

The two-our biopic, Britney, will follow Spears from her young years in Louisiana, her music career and series of highly-publicised relationships, subsequent troubles that saw her children placed in custody, and her successful battle to rebuild her life and career.

Asylum Entertainment (The Kennedys) is producing the show, with Steve Michaels, Jonathan Koch and Joan Harrison executive producing.

Lifetime has previously created original telemovie biopics of famous female personalities such as Marilyn Monroe.
