Fox ties down Fresh Off the Boat creator

Fresh Off the Boat creator and showrunner Nahnatchka Khan has scored a pod deal at 20th Century Fox Television.

The multiyear agreement will see the producer writing, developing and supervising projects for Fox’s production arm through her Fierce Baby Productions imprint.

Khan is best known for ABC comedy Fresh Off the Boat, which was earlier this year renewed for a third season and is considered a critical hit. She will remain showrunner on the series while working up new programming.

20^th Century Fox TV’s VP, current programming, Mandy Summers, is joining Fierce Baby as head of development. She will w0rk with Khan to find new writing talent.

Khan is also behind Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23, a short-lived ABC sitcom that starred Krysten Ritter (Marvel’s Jessica Jones), and was an executive producer on Fox animated comedy American Dad.
