Dumb & Dumber, Colbert writers team for comedy
The AT&T Audience Network has given a straight-to-series order to Loudermilk, a new comedy from Peter Farrelly (Dumb and Dumber) and Bobby Mort (The Colbert Report).
The 10x30mins show will be produced for the US pay TV channel by indie prodco Primary Wave Entertainment.
Production gets underway, in Vancouver, in October. The show will, the producers say, follow the titular Loudermilk, a recovering alcoholic and substance abuse counselor with an extremely bad attitude.
“When Peter Farrelly brought this project to us we knew his unique and edgy writing style he portrays in his films was a perfect fit for our demographic,” said Christopher Long, AT&T’s senior VP, original content and production.
“To have the opportunity to work with a dream comedic team like Farrelly and Mort is a once in a lifetime opportunity that we’re thrilled to be a part of.”
Farrelly and Mort will be showrunners.
