Viceland appoints Leidner for unscripted
Nomi Ernst Leidner has been upped at Vice Media and will oversee unscripted development at the Viceland channel.
Leidner has been promoted from exec producer, a role in which she oversaw production on Vice series including Gaycation, States of Undress, and Woman with Gloria Steinem.
Prior to Vice, the programming exec in development at the news and docs division of MTV, launching series including Catfish. Before that she was at US broadcast net CBS.
In her new role she will work with recently appointed president of programming Nick Weidenfeld, Cristián Jofré, creative director for Viceland International, as well as Vice execs Spike Jonze and Eddy Moretti, and Viceland boss Guy Slattery.
“The launch of Viceland has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career,” Ernst Leidner said. “I couldn’t be more thrilled to work with Nick and the team in bringing even more unique diverse voices to television.
“Nomi is an outstanding talent who has already proven that she understands the fabric of this network and the kind of shows our audience wants,” Weidenfeld said. “She is going to be a key player as Viceland continues to grow out our slates of original programming, working with creative teams both inside and outside the company.”
