Former Shine finance chief heads to BBCWW
BBC Worldwide has hired former Shine CFO Tom Fussell as its new finance chief.
He replaces Andrew Bott, whose departure for FremantleMedia was announced late last year, with Suzanne Burrows then covering his role on an interim basis.
Fussell takes the CFO role at Worldwide, the commercial arm of UK pubcaster the BBC, from May 3. He has previously worked at the BBC in various finance roles.
He was at Shine from 2013 to 2015, running its financial operations across eleven countries. He left the company after its merger with Endemol and Core Media Group, which created Endemol Shine Group.
Prior to Shine, Fussell was at publishing groups Harper Collins and Random House.
BBCWW chief exec Tim Davie said: “I am delighted to welcome Tom back to the BBC – it will be great to have him on the BBC Worldwide team. He brings the ideal mix of top quality functional experience and superb sector knowledge.”
Fussell added: “This really is an ideal role for me – drawing on my commercial sector experience, while returning to an organisation I know and love. BBC Worldwide has a clear strategy and an important purpose; and I look forward to helping it advance both of these.”
