NBCU’s Working Title gets new UK boss
NBCUniversal-backed drama prodco Working Title Television UK has hired former Kudos prodcuer Andrew Woodhead as its new managing director.
He fills a role vacated by Juliette Howell, whose exit from Working Title was announced last year. She has since created a new prodco with former Film4 chief Tessa Ross.
Working Title is based in London and LA and run as a joint venture between NBCU and prodcuers Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner. Woodhead will run the UK operation.
Woodhead’s credits include Spooks, the UK version of US procedural Law & Order and Sky drama series Fortitude.
Recently he has been adapting Eleanor Catton novel The Luminaries and producing Marcella, the latest project from Hans Rosenfeldt (The Bridge), for ITV.
At Working Title he will report to founders Bevan and Fellner, and NBCUniversal International Studios president Michael Edelstein.
“In this ‘golden age’ where great creative talent moves so effortlessly between film and television, I can’t think of a more perfect time to be joining this wonderful company,” said Woodhead.
In a joint statement, Bevan and Fellner added: “We are hugely committed to expanding our television business and are thrilled to have Andrew join the team in London. We look forward to working with him to create popular and ground-breaking drama – leading WTTV to even greater success.”
