Fox names Nordic buying chief

Fox International Channels has upped Clara Scherman to senior director of acquisitions for its Nordic operations.

Based in FIC’s Swedish base and will oversee programme buying for the whole bouquet of Fox channels in the Nordics.

She will report to Ase Ytreland, FIC’s Nordic managing director, who said: “Our content investments range from our FIC global productions to third-party acquisitions and also local productions in Finland.

“Clara is highly experienced and respected in the market, it makes sense to benefit from her expertise across the region as a whole”.

Scherman said she would work with “FIC teams and content providers in the Nordic region as well as the UK and the US. I am very much looking forward to the expanded role”.

Fox launched its flagship Fox channel in Sweden last year and has an 80-strong team in the Nordics. It runs channels including Fox, National Geographic and Nat Geo Wild in the region.

Scherman has been at Fox since late 2014 when she joined from an acquisitions role at Sweden’s TV4. She has also been on the board of distribution group Nordic World and worked at Swedish pubcaster SVT.
