Asian SVOD service straps on Jetpack
Asian subscription on-demand platform iflix has acquired programming from UK-based distributor Jetpack.
iflix, which is live in Malaysia and the Philippines, has bought 12 series comprising 187 hours, including 52x11mins live-action puppet series The Moe Shoe, docudrama Heart & Soul and 2D-animated Jamie’s Got Tentacles.
“iflix is excited to add Jetpack’s great range of shows to our kids lineup. We are committed to delivering the region’s best entertainment offering across all genres to Southeast Asians,” said iflix group chief content officer James Bridges. “This agreement with Jetpack is an integral part of fulfilling that promise.”
Former Disney buyer Dominic Gardiner launched Jetpack alongside Canada’s Nerd Corps Entertainment and France’s Samka Productions at last year’s Annecy. This year’s event is running this week in France.
