CSI sets global simulcast record
The 171-country simulcast of CBS procedural CSI has officially become the largest ever.
CBS Studios International distributes the series and organised the worldwide screening of an episode of the show, on March 4, to commemorate its fifteenth anniversary.
By getting the official Guinness World Record for the biggest simulcast it has taken over from previous record holder, BBC sci-fi series Doctor Who.
The episode screened was ‘Kitty’, which originally went out in the US last year and formed the ‘embedded pilot’ for the latest edition of the CSI franchise, CSI: Cyber.
CSI was created by Anthony Zuiker (above, centre) and is exec produced by Jerry Bruckheimer (above left) and Jonathan Littmann (above right).
