New Worlds launches on US OTT, iTunes
Epic period miniseries New Worlds will launch on UK-centric OTT service Acorn TV next week and on the iTunes store.
Acorn, which is run by Agatha Christie rights holder RLJ, will launch the miniseries on February 16 with new instalments available weekly thereafter.
Set in the 1680s, the series starts Jamie Dornan (The Fall, Fifty Shades of Grey) and follows the turbulent period that followed the end of the English Civil War and its impact on four young idealists that prepare to sacrifice everything for a fairer future.
UK broadcaster Channel 4 originally ordered the show, which All3Media-owned Company Pictures produces. Power sells it internationally.
The show will launch on a download-to-own basis on iTunes from next week.
Separately, Acorn has added another season of a popular British series to its line-up. The penultimate run of UK period detective drama Foyle’s War is now on the OTT service.
