Karen Young’s Orange Smarty snags A Place in the Sun

Orange Smarty, the distributor launched by ex-Electric Sky exec Karen Young, has taken international rights to the new series of property show A Place in the Sun.

The distributor, which launched a year ago, will sell 30x60mins A Place In The Sun: Winter Sun, which is on free-to-air commercial channel Channel 4 in the UK. The series follows property experts as they help house hunters looking for a holiday home abroad.

It is produced by UK indie Freeform Productions.

Karen Young said: “Our strategy has always been to try and attract blue chip programming that has a strong International appeal, these kind of series do not come along very often so we were delighted to be chosen as [Freeform’s] new distribution partner.”
