Broadcasters want the Truth about Tutankhamun
Australian pubcaster SBS and Discovery Asia have both acquired factual special Tutankhamun: The Truth Uncovered.
The one-off was originally produced by STV Production with Cream Productions, The Smithsonian Channel and Discovery Canada as copro partners, and aired on BBC One in the UK.
The film set out to uncover the truth about the life and death of the boy king.
It is distributed by Red Arrow International, which struck the SBS and Discovery Asia deals. Discovery will put the doc out across its Asian channel footprint. SBS will air it on the SBS One channel.
Ben Nguyen, channel manager SBS One said: “We are delighted to be able to bring a new film about this famous Egyptian pharaoh to SBS One to satisfy their thirst for great history programming.”
