Channel 4 renews Deal or No Deal
Channel 4 has renewed a deal for Deal or No Deal, meaning the quiz will be on the UK commercial broadcaster until at least end-2015.
The show is produced by Endemol’s Remarkable Television, which will make 288 new episodes for Channel 4 under the terms of the new deal. The agreement takes the quiz into its tenth year on Channel 4 and, by end-2015,there will be almost 3,000 episodes of the UK version of the programme.
Remarkable is about to introduce a new element to the UK Deal or No Deal that allows contestants to predict the banker’s offer and, if they guess correctly, force the banker to make an offer later in the game.
Richard Hague, executive producer at Remarkable Television adds; “This milestone commission cements Deal or No Deal’s position as one of the UK’s favourite game show hits. [Presenter] Noel Edmonds is a simply brilliant host and we’re all incredibly excited about celebrating the tenth anniversary in the Dream Factory next year.”
