ION joins Fox, CTV on The Listener

US cable channel ION will be the exclusive broadcast home of procedural The Listener.

Fox International Channels, Canada’s CTV and producer Shaftesbury Films are already attached to the show, which is now set for a mid-season US launch.

The agreement means ION will also be onboard future seasons. ION already runs procedurals such as Criminal Minds, Cold Case and Law and Order: Criminal Intent.

“The Listener fits seamlessly into our lineup of drama series, providing the reliable quality and originality our loyal audience and clients look for,” said Brandon Burgess, chairman and CEO of ION Media Networks.

“An equally important dimension is the collaboration with CTV and Shaftesbury, as we look for additional new original projects in this genre,” he added.

The Listener stars Craig Olejnik as mind-reading police consultant Toby Logan. Shaftesbury produces in association with CTV and FIC, and Shine International has global distribution rights.
