BT launches buy-to-keep digital service
UK pay TV provider BT has launched a buy-to-keep digital service that offers movies from the likes of Sony Pictures and the 20th Century Fox studio.
The service will allow BT customers with YouView set-top boxes to purchase titles to watch as many times as they like. BT intends to add television box set series in coming months.
Library prices start from £8.99 (US$14.63) for digital HD and £5.99 for SD downloads that are stored and streamed through the YouView box.
Films offers from this month include The Wolverine and DreamWorks Animation-produced Turbo from Fox; Captain Phillips and The Smurfs 2 from Sony; and older titles such as The Social Network, the Alien franchise, Black Swan and Jerry Maguire.
BT TV’s director Alan Green said the new service gives “even more choice” to customers.
