Bravo searches for America’s Best Restaurant with Ramsay prodco
NBCUniversal-owned cable net Bravo has acquired America’s Best Restaurant, a new series from Gordon Ramsay’s prodco One Potato Two Potato.
The 11x60mins food competition series will be fronted by a “soon-to-be-announced top US chef and restaurateur”. It will pit some of the US’s top restaurants against each other to unearth which offers the best all-round experience.
The LA office of Ramsay’s Optomen-backed producer will make the show, which is based on Ramsay’s Best Restaurant, which went out on Channel 4 in the UK in 2010.
One Potato Two Potato has also been commissioned to create another season of a separate reslity competition series Food Court Wars (pictured) for Food Network.
The 13x60mins season will again see two teams of cooks competing for a lease on a prime location food court.
Optomen International, the distribution arm of All3Media-owned UK producer Optomen, said the deals mean One Potato Two Potato has now secured 130 hours of commissions in the US. It also produces MasterChef, MasterChef Junior and Hotel Hell.
