Virgin Media scores DHX on-demand deal
UK cable provider Virgin Media has tapped Canada’s DHX Media for a range of children’s programmes such as Paddington Bear for its on-demand service.
The deal hands Virgin Paddington’s Birthday Bonaza, Paddington Goes to the Movies, Paddington Goes to School, season one of Inspector Gadget and season one of Caillou.
The content is currently available to Virgin subscribers with M+, L or XL TV packages and will be added to the Virgin TV Anywhere cloud-based entertainment service later this month. Additional DHX content will be added in coming months.
Nick Forward, Virgin Media’s TV product director, said: “We’re delighted to bring Paddington Bear, Inspector Gadget and Caillou into the homes of Virgin TV families. These charming and iconic shows are bound to put a smile on children and parents’ faces alike and keep everyone entertained this summer.”
Last week, Virgin added Sesame Street to its subscription TV package.
