Random House’s TV unit taking Monkey Nuts to the small screen
Random House Children’s Screen Entertainment has optioned TV rights to the Monkey Nuts comic series.
RHCSE, a UK-based production joint venture between publisher Random House and producer Komixx, said it had secured the rights after positive expressions of interest from unnamed TV broadcasters.
Monkey Nuts is a slapstick action comedy series set on the Isla de Monstera, home of a team of crime-fighting monkeys.
It is written by British comic creators the Etherington Brothers (Malcolm Magic and Long Gone Don).
Andrew Cole-Bulgin, partner and head of film & TV, RHCSE said the upcoming series will directly appeal to boys 8-12 years of age.
