Oprah net takes on Tyler Perry sitcom

Oprah Winfrey’s cable network has ordered a new season For Better or Worse, the Tyler Perry sitcom.

OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network has also picked up the first two seasons of the show, which originally went out on Turner’s TBS.

The original cast of the series, basic cable’s best rated programme among African-Americans, will return for series three.

For Better or Worse will mark OWN’s third scripted series from Perry who has an exclusive deal with the network to produce new series and projects.

The first two original series – the sitcom Love Thy Neighbor and the ensemble drama The Haves and the Have Nots will premiere in May.
