iPlayer content boss leaves for Livity

Derren Lawford is leaving his position as head of programming and scheduling for Global BBC iPlayer to join youth agency Livity.

At Livity, Lawford will be head of conent, providing direction across its activities with a focus on the youth engagement agency’s online video output.

The organisation has produced multiplatform content including Channel 4’s teen series Dubplate Drama.

Lawford will report to Livity managing director Michelle Clothier and creative director Callum McGeoch.

Before iPlayer, Lawford worked in BBC Radio before becoming a factual producer for BBC1, BBC2 and BBC Online.

He said: “During my career I’ve worked in television, radio, online and publishing, primarily for a youth audience. Joining Livity means I get to work across all of these platforms under the same roof and with the same incredibly dynamic team.”
