NBC cancels Dane Cook’s Next Caller before it airs
US network NBC has cancelled Dane Cook-fronted comedy Next Caller before the series has even aired.
The broadcaster had ordered six episodes of the series and had completed production on the first four. However, it decided that the series wasn’t moving in the right direction creatively and pulled the plug ahead of its launch.
The series was produced by Lionsgate Television and Universal Television and would have been distributed by NBC Universal International Television.
It was created by Weeds producer Stephen Falk and starred Cook as an obnoxious radio DJ who must work with up and coming young feminist on his radio show.
