Pan Am takes off across Asia
Sony Pictures Television’s period drama Pan Am has been sold to a raft of international broadcasters following its US launch.
The show, which stars Christina Ricci, has been acquired by India’s Star and TVNZ in New Zealand.
Separately, Sony Pictures Television’s networks across Asia has picked up the show.
Pan Am launched in the States on September 25 on ABC and has subsequently been sold to broadcasters including Canada’s CTV, British public broadcaster BBC 2, Sweden’s TV3, Australia’s Nine, Japan’s Imagica BS and Ireland’s RTE.
Angel Orengo, senior vice president, distribution, Asia-Pacific, Sony Pictures Television, said: “Our dramas are attracting audiences around the globe and viewers in Asia-Pacific will love the sense of fun and adventure that Pan Am brings with its international backdrops and globe-trotting storylines,” said Orengo.
