Danny Goldman parts with Power
Danny Goldman has left Power only a few months after having joined as CEO from Sony Pictures Television. It is understood he has taken a role at another TV firm with details to be announced later today.
Goldman was understood to be en-route to the US today and unavailable for comment, but a Power spokesman said that the planned rebrand of the company and several of Goldman’s ‘pet’ programming projects will likely not now go ahead.
Power has appointed head of business affairs, Susan Waddell, interim CEO.
Goldman left Sony in March and was appointed CEO of Power, after the company had entered administration and been acquired by South African company Sabido Investments. The former Sony exec had wanted to rename Power and to broaden the scope of its distribution activities beyond TV movies and miniseries.
Power was still officially in administration last month, but has since emerged from that process.
Waddell said: “Over the past moths we have forged a durable foundation of top quality programming and a diversified portfolio. We have everything in place to consolidate our position as a go-to distributor and I look forward to helping guide Power forwards. I would also like to wish Danny luck in his new endeavours.”
