Turner sells Spielberg’s Falling Skies around the world
Turner has sold its Steven Spielberg-produced alien series Falling Skies in more than 75 territories ahead of its launch on US cable network TNT.
Turner Broadcasting System International, the Time Warner-owned company’s global division, has sold the series, which airs in the States on June 19, in Germany, Brazil, Mexico, Spain, Canada, South Korea and the United Kingdom.
Germany’s TNT Serie, Canada’s Super Channel and Canal+ in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland have all acquired the 10-episode sci-fi series as well as FX in the UK. The show will also air across a number of TNT channels internationally including TNT Latin America and its sister channel Space.
The show, which is produced by Spielberg, Dreamworks TV and TNT Productions, stars ER’s Noah Wyle as he attempts to lead the fight back against a devastating alien attack.
