MTVNI closes formats deals
MTV Networks International has inked a number of key format deals across Europe and Asia.
The international sales arm of the Viacom-owned broadcaster has closed significant deals for formats including Pros v Joes, Pay It Off and Bridal Bootcamp.
Norwegian broadcaster TV2 is remaking sports reality competition series Pros v Joes with local production company Mediacircus. The show, which originally aired on Spike in the US, sees regular guys compete against their sporting heroes.
BBC Worldwide-backed Australian production company Freehand has also picked up the rights to the format.
Separately, Italian broadcaster Mediaset is to make a local version of wedding fitness format Bridal Bootcamp, which originally aired on VH1.
Nigerian brand management company Linam Concept has also acquired rights to BET game show Pay It Off and is in talks with a local sponsor to package the format.
MTV Networks International will launch four formats at MIP TV including street racing series Slips, dance competition Dance Cam Slam, fat format I Used To Be Fat and dating format Moving In.
