CTV cleans out management ahead of Bell takeover
Several of CTV’s top executives will be leaving the Canadian free-to-air broadcaster ahead of a regulatory decision on the proposed takeover of the broadcaster by telco and pay TV operator Bell.
The list of outgoing executives includes programming chief Susanne Boyce.
The changes were announced in a memo to staff from Kevin Crull, the recently-installed CTV COO and the executive tipped to replace outgoing Ivan Fecan as CEO.
Other execs leaving CTV as part of the senior management clear-out are CFO John Gossling, digital media boss Alon Marcovici and corporate affairs boss Paul Sparkes.
The new senior executive team has current sport programming boss Phil King as head of programming, including sport, and Rick Brace and Wendy Freeman running programming, excluding sport and news, at the specialty (cable) networks. Exact titles have yet to be confirmed.
Bell’s C$1.3 billion deal for CTV is expected to be cleared by communications regulator the CRTC within weeks.
