Broadcasters including Discovery buy Wikileaks doc
Discovery and a raft of European broadcasters have picked up Zodiak Rights-distributed Wikileaks documentary WikiLeaks: War, Lies and Videotape.
The one-off doc is coproduced by France’s Premières Lignes, cultural broadcaster Arte and LCP Assemblée Nationale.
As well as Discovery Europe, Swedish free-to-air broadcaster TV4, Switzerland’s TSR and Belgium’s RTBF have acquired the hour-long show. Poland’s TVP, Finland’s MTV and Germany’s NDR have also bought the programme.
The film is billed as a behind the scenes investigation of the whistle-blowing website, conducted over six months, starting last July. It includes an interview with Domscheit-Berg, the former number two at Wikileaks, and a critic of the website founder Julian Assange.
Zodiak said that a US deal for the doc is also close – as is one in Portugal.
