DRG inks deal with Taggart producer STV

International distributor DRG has struck a deal with Taggart producer STV that will see it sell its programmes internationally.

This comes a few months after Target Entertainment, which previously represented the STV catalogue, was sold to film distributor Metrodome.

DRG will exclusively represent STV titles including long running detective series Taggart, which just entered its 27th season and cop drama Rebus, which is based on the Ian Rankin novels.

It will also sell titles from STV-owned producer Ginger Productions including recent Discovery / Channel 5 commission Walking The Amazon, Jack Osbourne: Adrenaline Junkie and Stags Do Prague.

DRG will also invest in STV and Ginger series in the future including a number of drama and documentary projects that are currently in development.

The move is a big loss for Target, which was sold to Metrodome in August for £800,000 (US$1.2 million).
