Vuguru strikes deal with Fireworks
Michael Eisner’s digital production company Vuguru has struck a deal with Fireworks International that will see the ContentFilm-owned company distribute ten of its projects over the next two years.
Fireworks will distribute Vuguru’s forthcoming slate of digital productions and multi-platform projects outside of the US and Canada. The first series that it will sell is 18x6mins Pretty Tough, a drama series based on the novel by Dawson’s Creek writer Liz Tigelaar, about two teenage girls and their adventures on the soccer field.
This deal follows Fireworks International’s distribution of Vuguru’s 62 part psychological thriller The Booth at the End.
Canadian media company Rogers acquired a stake in Vurugu last year and the Prom Queen-producer will use these funds to boost its production slate.
“We’re currently doing six or seven different story-driven shows a year and we want to get to ten, twenty or thirty a year,” Eisner told TBIvision last year.
