Living launches first original drama
UK pay TV broadcaster Living TV has commissioned its first scripted drama – the Will Young-fronted Bedlam.
The broadcaster has commissioned UK indie Red Production Company, which has produced Queer As Folk and Worried About The Boy, to produce the six part supernatural series.
It stars the Pop Idol winner as Ryan, who shares a flat in Bedlam Heights, although the apartment block is haunted.
“We’ve been searching for ages for the right idea to launch Living into original drama, and Bedlam is the perfect fit. It’s sexy, stylish and truly scary,” says Living TV Group’s director of television Claudia Rosencrantz.
This moves comes as part of the channel’s 2011 line up, which will also include a number of high profile US imports including Warner Bros International Television Distribution’s Jerry Bruckheimer-produced cop drama Chase and Maggie Q-fronted remake of Nikita and a raft of programming from its recently signed deal with Katie Price.
