Marathon tops French animation table

Marathon Media and Tele Images Kids were the largest producers of French animation according to a new study released by funding body CNC.

The survey, released by the body at the Annecy Animation Film Festival, saw that the Zodiak Entertainment-owned companies produced 52 hours of animation in 2009, which was 14.8% of the total produced in France. This includes series such as Gormiti, The Amazing Spiez and Sally Bollywood.

Gaumont-Alphanim and Media Participation’s Darguad, Ellipsanime and Dupuis came second in the list with 31 hours produced, followed by Futurikon with 23 hours, Method Animation with 21 hours and Moonscoop with 20 hours.
