Kanal 5 to remake Banijay’s Celebrity Devil Race

Swedish broadcaster Kanal 5 is to make a local version of Banijay Entertainment format Celebrity Devil Race.

This comes as rival Swedish broadcaster TV4 recommissions local versions of its factual entertainment series Construction Nightmares and Sold.

SBS-owned Kanal 5 has commissioned Banijay-owned producer Nordisk Film TV to produce the series, which pits a number of celebrities against each other in a death defying road race. The series is set to air later this year.

TV4 has commissioned season two of Construction Nightmares as well as a further 14 episodes of property show Sold, which was originally devised by Danish broadcaster DR.

Banijay Entertainment, which was set up by former Endemol France boss Stephane Courbit, currently has operations in France, Spain, Russia, Germany, Denmark, the UK and the United States after its launch last year.
