ID launches new slate
Investigation Discovery, the rebranded pay broadcaster has announced its latest programming slate including a weekly magazine show with former CNN host Paula Zahn and a six part factual series from UK indie Touch Productions.
Zahn has signed a development deal with the cable broadcaster and will also develop an investigative series for the network with colleagues Scott Weinberger and Scott Sternberg.
Meanwhile, UK indie Touch Productions has been commissioned to produce six episodes of Dallas DNA, an investigative series that follows Texas’ Conviction Integrity Unit as they search for miscarriages of justice. The series will launch in April.
Investigation Discovery, also known as ID, was launched in 1996 as a joint venture with CBS and was also run in conjunction with the New York Times – the channel then known as Discovery Times. However, the newspaper group sold its stake in 2006 and the channel was rebranded ID. The channel was also launched internationally with launches including in the UK with satellite pay TV operator Sky and cabler Virgin Media.
