Globo and Telemundo team for Spanish-language Clone

Brazilian media group Globo and US Hispanic network Telemundo are joining forces to make a Spanish-language version of hit telenovela The Clone. Telemundo will air the new version having already had the original show back in 2002.

Globo produced and distributed the original series, which had a 70% share when it aired in Brazil and was subsequently sold into over 90 countries.

Telemundo Studios will oversee the new version, which will be shot in Colombia, the US and the Middle East. Filming will start in early 2009.

Globo and Telemundo sales arms, Globo TV International and Telemundo Internacional, will share international rights.
