CBS replaces Wiley with Reisenbach
Amy Reisenbach will succeed Bridget Wiley as head of current programming at US broadcaster CBS and its TV studio sister.
Reisenbach (pictured) has been named executive VP of current programmes at CBS Entertainment and CBS Television Studios.
The promotion comes days after Wiley announced her departure from the Eye Network after twelve years.
This, in turn, followed the news Glenn Geller was exiting as president of CBS Entertainment.
Reisenbach will report to CBS TV Studios president David Stapf and Tom Sherman, CBS Entertainment’s new senior EVP of programming.
She was previously senior VP of current at CBS TV Studios, overseeing studios shows, series for The CW (of which CBS is a part-owner) and some CBS programmes.
The long-serving exec will now oversee all current output at both the network and the studio. She has been with CBS TV Studios since 2005, rising to SVP level by September 2015.
Reisenbach previously worked at Warner Bros. Television, where her father, Sandy Reisenbach was a long-serving marketing chief.
“I’ve known Amy since my days at Warner Bros. and have watched her grow into an outstanding executive at CBS with strong writer/producer relationships that help facilitate our creative process in such positive ways,” said Stapf.
“Her father, Sandy, was a terrific and unparalleled executive in the business, and she has achieved her success in similar fashion – with integrity, hard work, creativity and a spirit of collaboration.”
Sherman, who is now running CBS Entertainment with new president Kelly Kahl, worked with Reisenbach while overseeing CW programming.
“Having watched Amy cover The CW’s series, I have always been impressed with her programming acumen, clear point of view and her deft and fearless support of the creative process,” he said.
