Rob Schneider heading to MIPCOM

Comedian and actor Rob Schneider is heading to Cannes to promote his comedy series Real Rob.

Schneider (Saturday Night Live, Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo) has a new show, loosely inspired by his own life, Real Rob.

He will be meeting buyers and press in Cannes, with a TV deal for the series understood to be in the offing.

The show was made with Canada-based TV producer and distributor Tricon, which is selling the 8x30mins comedy internationally.

Tricon heads into Cannes with another comedy series Sunnyside. The 13x30mins sketch series is set in a fictional neighbourhood in which crazy events unfold.

Other scripted shows for the market include murder mystery noir show The Spoils Before Dying and the new season of Kim Catrall show Sensitive Skin.

The factual slate includes a pair of music series. On the Record with Mick Rock follows artists including Kings of Leon and The Flaming Lips visit each other’s hometowns.

Rock Icons, meanwhile, profiles some of the biggest names in rock including Slash, Ted Nugent and Billy Corgan.
