Reel One hires Mary Kills People execs for int’l push
Montreal-based Reel One Entertainment has hired Mary Kills People producer Adam Fratto as senior VP of TV series, as part of a push into international drama.
The company, which is a key telemovie producer in North America, has added the executive to expand its business in international television drama.
Fratto has tied with both Hollywood and the international TV business. He was most recently a supervisor of Lifetime’s Mary Kills People, which was a coproduction with Global in Canada.
He was also an executive producer on drama pilot Sea Change, and was previously executive VP of development at New Zealand-based Pukeko Pictures, though he was based in LA.
Reel One CEO Tom Berry said Reel One is planning to focus on “highly commercial series made for and with broadcast and digital platforms worldwide.
Fratto “brings a wealth of creative talent and relationships in the creative community”, he said, adding: “Adam will drive expansion of Reel One’s series business adding to Reel One’s long established TV movie business and partnerships.”
Reel One, which has offices in LA, London and Canada, has to date produce 170 telemovies. It first pushed into international TV when it scored a deal with US channel UP TV last year.
That pact was described as a “landmark international development, production and distribution” deal.
