Studio Lambert hires TwoFour exec for new label

Formats-logo-460_2Cat LawsonAll3Media-backed Studio Lambert has created a shiny floor entertainment unit, and hired a top TwoFour Group creative to lead the prodco.

Cat Lawson (pictured) will lead Gliiterbox as creative director, having most recently been head of entertainment at This Time Next Year prodco TwoFour.

Glitterbox will have its own development team, but will also work with Studio Lambert creative director Tim Harcourt and his team to create shiny floor programmes. Studio Lambert’s LA operation will produce Glitterbox formats in the US.

Lawson is the latest development hire for Studio Lambert, coming after Natalie McArdle joined from Sony-backed Electric Ray.

Studio Lambert, which is backed by All3, jumped into the shiny floor space this year with Channel 4’s Naked Attraction.

“We’ve been developing some big new studio entertainment ideas recently, and now we have Cat on board we look forward to honing them with her and taking them out to market,” said Lambert.

Lawson has been with TwoFour for two years, most recently executive producing the upcoming ITV format This Time Next Year, which has gone into production in nine territories despite not yet launching.

Lawson’s other credits include Channel 4 reality series The Jump and ITV2’s Dating in the Dark. She was previously series producer on The X Factor, Celebrity Big Brother, The Million Pound Drop and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. She began her career at UK broadcaster ITV, which bought TwoFour last year.

“I have been wanting to run my own operation for some time now and working with the Studio Lambert team is very attractive because of their great track record in creating UK formats and then making them into hits on US television,” said Lawson.

Studio Lambert is behind series such as Gogglebox, Undercover Boss and Tattoo Fixers.
