Congé joins expanding Go-N

Kids-logo-460_2marie congeMarie Congé has joined French producer and distributor Go-N.

The announcement she will join the Paris-based firm comes shortly after the news emerged she had left another French kids company, Cyber Group Studios.

The deal reunites Congé with Go-N founders Eric Garnet and Anne de Galard, with the trio having all previously been at French prodco Antefilms in the early 2000s.

At Go-N she will be head of sales and business development. In the newly-created role, she will develop Go-N’s sales strategy and develop new revenue streams.

She joins soon after it becomes one of a clutch of French kids companies to launch a fully-fledged domestic studio. The first produced in France project out of that studio will be Simon, a 52x5mins adaptation of the Stephanie Blake novels for France Télévisions. Congé and the sales team will be launching the preschool show at MIPJunior.

Go-N also makes and distributes France Télévisions’ animated series Zip Zip, which has sold to Disney in several territories and into over 100 countries in all.

The new recruit was vice president, international sales, acquisitions and new media at Cyber. She was there for a short stint, having only joined last October, and has now been replaced by Raphaelle Mathieu.

A seasoned kids exec, she has also been senior VP, international distribution and consumer products at Moonscoop.

Congé said: “Go-N has managed to rise to the very top in terms of creativity, talent and production amongst animation companies in Europe. And I am very proud to be a part of the team and to be given this tremendous opportunity to develop the international distribution subsidiary.”
