Channel One buys Section Zero

Scripted-logo-460_2Section_ZeroRussian broadcaster Channel One has acquired edgy French drama Section Zero.

The free-TV station will launch the 8x1hr show in August, playing episodes back to back between August 1-4.

StudioCanal distributes the show and struck the Russian deal, having already shopped it to SBS in Australia.

Section Zero, a cop show set in a dystopian near future, hails from Braquo writer Olivier Marchal and is made by by EuropaCorp Television, Bad Company and Umedia.

Channel One’s Peter Shepin said: “We’re happy to add some Olivier Marchal style and atmosphere to the late night prime which exists specifically to target younger segments of our audience.”
