Atlan was co-chief executive along with Mike Young at Splash, which was previously known as Moonscoop LLC.

His replacement, Rosen, has been with Splash since 2003 and was part of the team that launched Splash-owned VOD service Kabillion. As well as COO and CFO, he previously held the title of executive VP.

Atlan was also president of Kabillion, and will be replaced in that role by David Di Lorenzo, who has been upped from VP, sales and digital distribution.

There was no word on Atlan’s next move though Splash said he would “pursue new opportunities”.

Young, who adds the role of chairman to his duties in the rejig, said: “As a dear friend and valued colleague its been a great pleasure working with Nicolas these past few years and we will miss seeing him daily. All of us at Splash say ‘thank you’ and wish him all the best in his new endeavors.”

With the backing of private investor JokeBox, Young and Atlan took control of Splash in 2014 after Moonscoop LLC’s French parent, Moonscoop, went into administration.

Splash is currently producing Netflix animated series Kulipari: An Army of Frogs and recently revealed a partnership with the New York City Ballet on Daisy and the Nutcracker.

“As such, the timing is perfect for us to promote Steve and David, two highly regarded executives whom have both been with us for many years and are leaders in the children’s business,” said Young. “With Steve’s leadership as co-CEO, along with David’s helm at Kabillion, I am certain that our recent growth and success will continue well into the future.”

Liz Young will remain Splash’s president and Mevelyn Noriega will stay on as president of distribution.
