Sling TV adds $10 Cinemax

CinemaxCinemax has been added to Dish’s Sling TV streaming service.

The HBO sister channel is available as an a la carte offering for US$10 a month, marking the first time the channel has been offered in this way.

“What’s particularly cool about this announcement is it marks the first time Cinemax is available to cord cutters on a standalone Internet TV service,” Sling said. “Previously, it was only available to those who paid for a traditional cable package.”

The channel will sit alongside its HBO stablemate on Sling, as well as another premium cable offering Epix. The basic cable offering includes Sundance and TCM.

The Cinemax channel will be available as a linear service via Sling, and there will also be a raft of on-demand series and movies.
