TRX continues to staff up

TRX has hired an exec to cover Latin America ahead of the NATPE market in Miami next week.

Sanaz RoohiRaquel Yepes will handle Latin American for the UK-based rights trading platform, which will roll out in the next few months.

As a consultant focused on the region, Yepes has worked with the Lat Am divisions of companies including The Walt Disney Company, Discovery Communications, Telemundo, 21st Century Fox and MGM.

She has also worked for the Latin arm of Zodiak Media, the production and distribution business that was previously run by David and Matthew Frank, the execs behind TRX. Yepes will be at NATPE next week representing TRX.

“The way we watch television has changed. Everyday there is more content available and the distribution methods are constantly evolving to ensure the value of that content is maximised,” said Yepes. “TRX, which will simplify and facilitate the exchange of TV rights, is part of this evolution.”

TRX has also recruited Sanaz Roohi (pictured) as head of client services. She joins from the distribution arm of Zodiak, Zodiak Rights, where she was vice president of international programme operations.

Matthew Frank, CEO of TRX, said: “Raquel is a highly respected TV exec in the Lat Am market, and I’m very flattered she is joining TRX to take care of the signing up of buyer and sellers from this key region. She is incredibly well connected at the highest level and is a key hiring as we roll TRX out around the world.”

“Sanaz is joining as head of our client services team – we worked together for many years at RDF and then Zodiak and I know she is the perfect person to oversee the onboarding of clients to TRX over the coming months. She is simply a delight to work with.”

TRX, which is in beta test mode with several distributors, has been staffing up ahead of its full launch, which is expected ahead of MIPTV.

Cat Davie has joined as business affairs chief, Matt Honeybone as CFO, and Jennifer Buzzelli as head of TRX North America. Sarah Walker has been hired as TRX’s marketing chief, and Pact boss John McVay and distribution veteran Nadine Nohr have joined the company’s board. With the latest hires, the executive team is now largely in place.
