Discovery to dig for Nazi gold

Discovery has been granted permission to film efforts to find a buried Nazi train thought to contain gold and priceless works of art.

Marjorie-Kaplan[5]US-listed Discovery has been granted permission to document efforts to recover the armoured train by authorities in the Polish town of Walbrzych, where the vehicle is thought to have be buried over 70 years ago.

Discovery will be document the work if the Department of Geophysics at the University of Science and Technology (AGH), and specialists Piotr Koper and Andreas Richter who pinpointed the train’s location.

“We are honored to be collaborating with Mayor Szelemej, and documenting the work of AGH, one of the leading scientific bodies, and the efforts of Mr. Koper and Mr. Richter, to help chronicle what will no doubt continue to be a globally captivating story, and could be one of the most significant World War Two archaeological finds ever made,” said Marjorie Kaplan, president of content for Discovery Networks International.

“I am glad that our experience and the modern equipment will contribute to solving the riddle that has kept so many people around the world interested,” said professor Janusz Madej, chief of research expedition at the Department of Geophysics AGH.
