Red Arrow backs ex-Fremantle execs’ new prodco

Production and distribution group Red Arrow Entertainment Group is backing Ripple Entertainment, a new digital prodco based in the US and founded by Gayle Gilman and Jason Ziemianski.

Jan FroumanGilman will be CEO of the new company and Ziemanski will join her as a senior exec in the start-up. Gilman was formerly executive VP, digital content, at FremantleMedia North America, launching digital studio Tiny Riot in her time at the company.

Ziemanski worked with Gilman at FremantleMedia on The Pet Collective, Buzzr and Vice joint venture Munchies.

Red Arrow said that Ripple will operate autonomously and launch digital content and channels from its LA base. The company will also act as a digital hub for the wider Red Arrow group and deploy its content and IP on digital platforms and services.

“Establishing Ripple is another significant and exciting step for us, and underlines our strategy: to invest in digital content and distribution, but always in a thoughtful and strategic way for the benefit of the Group as a whole,” said Jan Frouman (pictured), CEO of Red Arrow Entertainment.

“Gayle is a coveted entertainment executive who has worked in both television and digital content as a creator and an executive, while Jason is a digital native who has been at the forefront of social content since it began.”

Gilman added: “As new destinations and services come online, and new monetisation opportunities are established, there has never been a better time to be in the content business across all platforms.”

Ripple will sit alongside Red Arrow’s other digital assets, which include a partnership with MCN Collective Digital Studio, which has now been merged with its German counterpart Studio71 to form Collective Studio 71

Ripple will work with the CS71 and other international MCNs.
