Cineflix poaches Leopard development exec

Canada-based Cineflix Media has hired Leopard USA senior VP Dave Hamilton to become its EVP, development.

Dave HamiltonHamilton (pictured) will join the American Pickers distributor in September with a remit to develop unscripted content across all platforms for the US, Canada and global markets.

He will in part replace LA-based Brandon Killion, who has departed after just over a year as executive VP, programming and development.

TBI understands Cineflix has been consolidating its development in New York, where Hamilton will be based, and Toronto, with most of its LA team now elsewhere.

Hamilton has most recently been overseeing franchises such as House Hunters International and Man Caves at Leopard USA, which is part of UK-based production and distribution group Argonon.

Before that, he was VP of Endemol USA, where he developed formats such as Treasure Detective, Find Me My Man, and Freakshow. He was also VP, development and production at US cable channel VH1, where he worked on shows such as Tool Academy, Scream Queens, and What Chilli Wants.

Based out of Cineflix’s New York office, Hamilton will report to Cineflix co-founder and CEOs Glen Salzman and Katherine Buck, and work closely with president of production Charles Tremayne and EVP, production and programming Kim Bondi.

“Dave is an acclaimed, Emmy-nominated producer and executive with an impressive track record,” said Salzman. “He is a great addition to the Cineflix team and we are confident his talent and creative vision will result in a raft of new original series and formats for Cineflix and our network partners.”
