Tom Toumazis joins Airey’s team at Yahoo

Tom-ToumazisDisney and Endemol veteran Tom Toumazis has joined Yahoo.

Toumazis has taken the role of head of partnerships, EMEA, at the web giant.

He will report to Dawn Airey, the former RTL and Channel 5 exec who is currently senior VP, Yahoo EMEA.

Toumazis will oversee partnerships for Yahoo, working with companies in the content, publishing and wider media space.

She said: “Tom brings to Yahoo exceptional senior commercial and leadership skills combined with a wealth of experience, spanning 30 years, from across media, entertainment and publishing industries.”

She added: “Tom is incredibly well placed to drive, deliver and develop key partnerships across the EMEA region and further strengthen our long term partnerships as we continue to deliver on our mobile first approach.”

An ad sales veteran working for Eurosport, EMAP and ITV, Toumazis was executive VP, managing director of Disney’s distribution arm before joining Endemol as chief commercial officer. He then joined publishing group MECOM as CEO and has recently been working with TV tech firm TV Beat as chairman.

Having joined Disney in 2001, Toumazis moved to Endemol in 2008 before exiting in 2011. He then joined Mecom, leaving in July 2012.
