Junior Bake Off lands first format

BBC Worldwide’s Junior Bake Off format has landed its first international remake.

The format will go out on new Thai digital terrestrial channel NOW 26 in the fourth quarter of this year, with local prodco Content LAB attached to produce it.

Junior Bake Off launched in the UK in 2011 and is currently two seasons in. It is a spin-off of popular BBC format The Great Bake Off in which 7-12 year-old children compete to become champion bakers.

“We are very pleased that Thailand, a key market for us in Asia, is the first country in the world to see a local Junior Bake Offon its screens,” said Monty Ghai, senior VP and general manager, South East Asia, BBC Worldwide, Asia.
