Two more broadcasters wanna marry Prince Harry

DD-gent_regclothingRITV in the UK and M-Net in South Africa have both acquired reality series I Wanna Marry ‘Harry’.

Shine International is distributing the series, which was produced by Zig Zag Productions’ and Ryan Seacrest Productions for US network Fox.

The format has 12 women competing for their chance to marry Prince Harry, while living at an English estate. However, ‘Prince Harry’ is actually a lookalike and singleton, Matthew Hicks.

Shine recently struck the first international deal for the show, with Australian free-to-air broadcaster Network Ten.

ITV has now picked it up in the UK and will show it on its ITV2 channel. South African pay TV service M-Net has also bought the show.

The show has just debuted on Fox in the US, garnering a disappointing 2.1 million viewers, albeit in a competitive slot. The first episode has already gone out on M-Net. ITV will broadcast it in June.

Zig Zag Productions CEO Danny Fenton said: “A Prince Harry lookalike who is an Environmental Officer from Exeter, managing to convince 12 American girls he is the man who would be King is an incredibly engaging premise. I’m sure UK and South African audiences will be talking about the show for weeks and months to come.”
